Pre-Battle Description
Again you are pressed into service fixing Aloyzo's eldritch blunders. The living Artifacts he created from the Crystals of Chronak cannot be allowed to roam the countryside causing mayhem, so you must set to the task of tracking them down. Aloyzo's scrying has revealed that at least one of them has wound up in the dreaded Troll King's lair. With grim determination, you set out to recapture the rebellious weapons.
Post-Battle Description
The Rust Creatures lie dead, their corpses already disintegrating into ferrous powder. These foul beasts are truly the bane of all warriors! In the back of the room you discover a wooden trunk with a few intact treasures, but Whorl is nowhere to be found. You follow the winding tunnels upward into the darkness... |

Pre-Battle Description
Dark corridors slope upward into the heart of the lair. The foul stink of troll grows ever stronger, until you emerge into a sweltering cavern fetid with rotting animal remains. Thick-muscled Troll Warriors leer from the shadows, delighted at the prospect of fresh meat. They kick their rust creatures into action and attack!
Post-Battle Description
You put the troll warrior corpses to the torch, lest they rise again to plague you. Rummaging around in their filthy belongings, you find a few pieces of loot, but no talking weapons. They must be elsewhere. Onward and upward! |

Pre-Battle Description
A rank smell from ahead grows steadily worse, filling your nostrils with the iron tang of blood. The corridors narrow and become mazelike, and just as you step in a pool of sticky blood, you hear the sound of buzzing wings from every direction...
Post-Battle Description
The presence of Storges in these numbers can only mean one thing. The door ahead is a Troll den. You wipe the winged nuisances' gore from your blades and make ready for your assault on the Troll King's chambers! |

Storges | 5 | ||
Whorl | 1 | ||
Pre-Battle Description
Kicking in the door to the chamber where the bloated Troll King makes his rancid home, you see your quarry, the traitorous staff, Whorl. To your surprise, the animate artifact is not in the Troll's clutches, but floating in mid-air by his side!
Post-Battle Description
The Troll King lies dead, and Whorl is subdued. His answers to your questions are vague an nonsensical, but he does let slip the phrase "Riptide knows best, she ran to the West" once or twice in his ramblings. You pause only to gather loot, then make your way back to the surface to continue the hunt. |
